Generation Ministries offers short-term summer mission trips with the purpose of sharing the gospel and God's heart with other cultures. In deciding how you should spend your summer, we ask that you pray about going on a missions trip with us, for the following reasons:

1.  "Go, make disciples of all nations"

The Great Commission was not a suggestion. Matthew 18:19-20 says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mission trips bring our church to other cultures, with the purpose of making disciples through the power of the gospel.

2.  God's heart for diverse cultures

God's heart is for all his children. His goal is to gather a family that represents, "every tribe and tongue and people and nation" (Rev. 5:9). When you enter the mission field, God's compassion for another culture should inspire your love and service to them.

3. Break your comfort zones

It's easy to find comfort in the same daily routine and environment. However, stepping out of those comfort zones often inspires a reliance on God and his power over our own. Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Having faith that God is with us, where ever we are, overcomes the fear of unfamiliar cultures and ultimately, strengthens our trust in him.

4. Spiritual Unity

When you minister alongside Christians in another culture, you find that the Holy Spirit bonds the group together supernaturally.  God gives us this powerful unity so we will work together for a common purpose across cultural lines. The deep relationships and connections you make in a mission trip can help grow and encourage your personal relationship with God.
